Dave Faulkner's birthday bash

This past Saturday, Dead Flowers was THRILLED to have been able to host and help organize a 50th birthday bash for the legendary Dave Faulkner of the Hoodoo Gurus (not to mention The Victims) at Magnetic Field... Dave is a fantastic, down-to-earth cat, and the party was a real blast with performances by The Brooklyn Atomic (Steve Wynn with Linda Pitmonn, and various Fleshtones and Dictators), The Master Plan, and The Fleshtones, plus The World Famous "Bob", various drag queens, and Phast Phreddie spinning boss tunes all night... Dave even joined the 'Tones on vocals and guitar for their finale, a scorching version of his own "Like Wow-Wipeout!"

Introducing The Nouvellas

It is with much delight that we introduce the Nouvellas, a new group consisting entirely of former Dansettes members! Following the break-up of The Dansettes, five of the seven members immediately formed the Nouvellas with the goal of creating a more stripped-down, soul-inspired project. The group have played two shows so far, and will be recording a full-length album in November. Their next live appearance will be at the sure-to-be incredible Norton Records Holiday Spectacular on December 15th at Brooklyn's Southpaw.

(Note: Jaime and Leah of the Nouvellas can be heard singing background vocals on the fantastic new Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings album, 100 Days, 100 Nights on Daptone Records.)
