GREGG TURNER
NIGHT SQUAD • BACK BURNERSROB*A*LOU

Dead Flowers Productions is very proud to present Gregg Turner co-founding member of LA punk-rock legends The Angry Samoans (where he was veteran co-singer/songwriter and guitarist for over 15 years), not to mention the man behind some stellar eviscerating rock journalism at Creem Magazine. Gregg is touring in support of his killer solo album, Gregg Turner Plays The Hits.

Currently a mathematics professor at a liberal arts university in New Mexico, Turner spends free moments singing about such things as "The Pharmacist From Walgreens," "Satan's Bride," and "I Dreamed I Met Lou Reed," while offering inspired cover versions of Roky Erickson's "Starry Eyes," Lou Reed's 1964 hot rod opus "Cycle Annie," as well as a new apocalyptic spin on P.F. Sloan's "Eve Of Destruction." Backing Turner up on most of these tunes is the legendary Billy Bill Miller on electric autoharp, who gained notoriety as a member of The Aliens, Roky Erickson's backing band in the '70s and 80's.

THE LORD CALVERTS
BLOCKHOUSES • THE LIVE ONES • THE FLURRIES

From off the streets of Baltimore, '60s garage-rock legends The Lord Calverts are back! Relocated to New York City, the L.C.s are once again in front of audiences, delivering their own take on true American roots rock: loud, crass, catchy and quick!

Blockhouses is a revved-up rock'n'roll trio from New York City. The guitar-bass-and-drums combo got its name from the Blockhouse in Central Park, a fort built to protect New York City from British invasion. Like that Manhattan landmark, Blockhouses is rock-solid, delivering their own take on New York City rock'n'roll. Think catchy melodies with driving guitars and sweaty live energy. Blockhouses front man Guy Lyons was lead guitarist of The Figgs back in the day. With a batch of new tunes — and a stable of old classics — he formed Blockhouses in 2013 with bassist Christopher Peifer (The Kowalskis) and drummer Bill Wolf. The guys share a mutual love for bare-bones rock and roll -- from the Ramones to the blistering pop-punk of today. Their supercharged first single, "Love To Get You High," is out now.

Beacon, NY's The Flurries play unabashedly energetic three minute rock'n'roll gems... The Live Ones (Drugfront Records) play hopped up three-piece rock'n'roll in the grand New York tradition. Catchy tunes, howling vocals, and a big sweaty beat!

Ten Years After

BUNNIE ENGLAND & THE NEW ORIGINALS

In July 2004, New Originals founder and guitarist Paul Crane assembled a motley crew consisting of bassist Paul Gil and the first of many drummers to launch a live band karaoke night at Magnetic Field (R.I.P.) on Atlantic Avenue in Brooklyn. Steve Reynolds stumbled into the bar eight months later to sing some Cheap Trick and became the band's MC in October 2005. And Scott Treude finally put a stop to the rotating cast of drummers in August 2007.

Somehow Bunnie England & The New Originals have made it to 10 years old. Knee issues, back issues, high blood pressure, surfing injuries, stifling allergies and even the closing of two venues hasn’t stopped them from bringing their loud and wasted brand of live band karaoke to the masses. So please help celebrate their 10th anniversary... It’ll be a special night you won’t want to miss!
