Cross-Eyed And Bow-Legged

TOM CLARK & THE HIGH ACTION BOYS
SEAN KERSHAW & NEW JACK RAMBLERS

The son of a drummer father in DeKalb, Illinois, a small town about an hour through the corn fields west of Chicago, a 12-year-old Tom Clark bought his first guitar at a garage sale for three dollars. He played in bands by age 13, and in college played bass and then guitar in a punk band called Blatant Dissent. In 1986, tired of working in the corn fields and in the produce section of a food store, Clark moved to New York City. Clark played in the parks and on the sidewalks of Greenwich Village by day and in Irish bars in the Bronx at night. Sometimes he played with his new friend Hank Wedel and his band Open Kitchen. Tom Clark & The High Action Boys recorded one album, 2002's Cross-Eyed and Bow-Legged, and more recently perform regularly at The Treehouse at 2A. Sean Kershaw & New Jack Ramblers play hi-octane honkytonk straight outta Brooklyn!

SEAN KERSHAW & THE NEW JACK RAMBLERS • CLIFF WESTFALL
Plus: WFMU's Honkytonk Radio Girl

For all of you who miss the old Hank's Honkytonk Brunch, we’ve got a treat coming your way when Sean Kershaw & The New Jack Ramblers play the new Hank's for the first time! Sean and co. play hi-octane honkytonk straight outta Brooklyn

Cliff Westfall writes songs about heartache, loss, and addiction… you know, funny songs. Or he can turn on a dime and dive headlong into a sentimental weeper. The Kentucky native delivers with a mixture of wit and bravado that, for Westfall, is central to what country music is all about. His debut album, Baby You Win, appeared on multiple Best of 2018 lists, and received acclaim in publications including Saving Country Music, No Depression, Magnet, PopMatters, Country Music People (UK), Lonesome Highway (Ireland) and many others. Backed by a crew of some of NYC’s finest musicians, his songs combine clever and insightful lyrics with classic honky tonk hooks.

Hank-O-Rama XIII

Hank-O-Rama is coming to Hank's Saloon — celebrate Hank on the 64th anniversary of his death with all yer fave country/rockabilly artists from the NYC/NJ country scene! Sean Kershaw & The New Jack Ramblers start things off with their Honky Tonk Brunch from 12:00-3:00, and then The Lonesome Prairie Dogs and special guests take the stage until 6pm.

The Hank-O-Rama party — New York’s longest-running Hank Williams tribute  —was conceived by The LPD’s Heidi and Luke Lonesome as a tribute to Hank on the anniversary of his death, and has been held every New Year's Day since 2005. Hank was just 29 years old when he was found dead in the back of his Cadillac on the morning of January 1st, 1953, en route to what was to be a New Year’s Day gig in Canton, Ohio. The party is a symbolic raincheck for that show.
