Shake It Off

TYSON MEADE (Chainsaw Kittens)
HEARTTHROB CHASIS • THE WAYBURNS

Tyson Meade, the revered ‘godfather of alternative rock’ and lead singer of Oklahoma’s Chainsaw Kittens and Defenestration, returns to New York for a visit with his Detroit based backing band. Meade will perform songs from his lengthy and acclaimed career including songs from his new album, Robbing The Nuclear Family, out early 2018 on Detroit based Jett Plastic Recordings.

Joining Meade will be Heartthrob Chasis, the new group from Margaret Doll Rod, former member of the Demolition Doll Rods. Prepare to be amazed! Also joining Meade will be The Wayburns, a Detroit based rock group formed by Johnny Chan, formerly of Johnny Chan & The New Dynasty Six, The Covingtons, and current member of The Britemores.

Words In The Air

THE BRITEMORES
LES SANS CULOTTES
HEARTTHROB CHASISFLOWERED GNOMES

A supergroup nearly 30 years in the making, The Britemores is a collaborative effort featuring long-time Detroit musical allies Johnny Chan (New Dynasty 6/Split Signals), Jeff Meier (Detroit Cobras/ Compulsive Gamblers/Rocket 455/Nathaniel Mayer/Gino Washington), Jerry Barterian (Onset/Hysteric Narcotics) and Will Lorenz (aka "the kid"). Comprised of myriad styles and influences, The Britemores’ music gives a thoughtful, greasy nod to Detroit garage/punk legends through memorable guitar hooks while cleansing their audience’s musical palate with soft-spoken, heartfelt ballads that even their mothers (wouldn't) approve of. The Britemores’ debut album is out soon on Jett Plastic Recordings.

The "seven-headed beast from the hard-scrabble streets of Menilmontant" and "those frilly Parisian underthings," Les Sans Culottes borrowed their name from the ill-clad (i.e., long-trousered) citizen-soldiers of the French Revolution. The band's sound is a melange of Francophone '60s girl group and the Kinks... "We are the masters of the French rock'n'roll; all others are but the slave!"
